I've developed an issue with my 2000 LC. It's decided that I need to stop in the middle of the interstate as quickly as possible. Granted, I was going maybe 10-15mph in stop and go traffic. But! It almost got me rear ended twice and flipped off once.

Here is what happens:

I slow down with traffic, creeping along at 0-5-10mph and then I'll accelerate and BAM the Active Trac light comes on and the LC stops as quickly as possible. And no amount of gas will overcome it. I have to stop, wait for the Active Trac light to stop blinking and then I can start again.

Also I'm having an issue where the ABS, VSC OFF and VSC TRAC lights all come on and stay lit. But this is intermittent. Sometimes I turn the truck off and these lights are off, sometimes they come on when I start the truck.

The ACTIVE TRAC issue happened repeatedly to me on the way home tonight. Help? Is this a bad speed sensor? How do I know which one of those expensive little buggers it is? I can't drive my LC with this going on, any input would be most appreciated.

Maybe mine is a similar problem. I have a 2003 Landcruiser Diesel automatic. Sometimes when I am going around a bend on a motorway at about 60 mph, all the wheels lock up. It lasts for about a second before everything returns to normal, but it is a hell of a second. Sometimes the vsc warning light and bleeper go off, sometimes they dont. Toyota can't find the problem and say the car is fine. Maybe it is supposed to do this. Has anyone any ideas.

Wheel Speed Sensor has gone bad...most likely. If the ABS and the rest of the lights are on, then the system is disabled. Drive it to the nearest place to get the code read without turning the ignition off. It will tell you which one is bad. I'm going to bank on Right Front.

IRS4U and Porcelina - any update on this issue? If everything else (sensors etc) checks out, might be worth having zero point calibration performed. I've seen others report similar issues when this wasn't done on VSC equipped vehicles after alignment, chassis, or suspension adjustments.

I see in this post https://forum.ih8mud.com/100-series-cruisers/451272-lx470-vsc-warning-light-goes.html that onceinalifetimeride and gbentink appear to have had the same issue and toyotadon suggested either wheel speed sensor or as simple as having the zero point calibration performed (to reset the Yaw Rate, Steering Angle, and Deceleration Sensors).
