I am curious if anyone has found a suitable place to mount a phone in their 2nd generation sequoia.

It does have an unusual "Ashtray" location that looks like a cup holder which made me start looking at "cup holder" goose neck phone mounts.

I then found something like this that uses a toggle bolt or screw already in the dash behind a blank.

I’m using a Scosche brand magnet & steel plate setup, mounted the magnet part just in the little area ahead of the twin cupholder things.

Back of phone has a adhesive plate, the magnet part stays static in the truck.

FWIW, it’s way stronger than the branded steel ball style, plus I lost the magnetic ring off the back of my phone -the magnet that’s supposed to stay in the mount

- that ring is stuck somewhere between my BBQ, the rack for BBQ stuff in use, or something metal that got tossed.

Nice part of the Scosche is it came with 2 phone plates. - I am going to repurpose my Iphone 6S as a ipod when I upgrade, I keep a boatload of music dl’d since up here the tree canopy is enough to block cel reception / sat radio in routinely driven places.
