As stated in post below:

https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=169045

This Sunday is the second sunday so those who are available to make it out be at the ALE HOUSE at 4pm.

We will further discuss future plans with the club at this time.

I may or may not be able to make it. We are going out of town, but *SHOULD* be back by then.

Will be in Wilmington this weekend (maybe some surf from Gab.) not sure if I'll be back in time...

Something I can offer up to the club is free teleconference servivce. Not applicable for this meeting, but if the club ever needs to have a conf w/ people from around the state, let me know.

Andy, are you able to make any of the meetings in winston/greensboro with those guys?

I haven't yet but it always goes back to the same issue we've discussed and battled since day one: logistics. Time, prior commitments, finding resources to get there and back, life, etc.

I guess I should note that I joined UC not because I saw it as better or some sort of competition (I've long had both club's HTML link in my sig) but it was more feasible for me to get / stay involved from a logistics / geographic perspective.

That being said, for the more than 2 years I've been a member of UC, I have only made a handful of meetings. I usually reserve my limited time / cycles to make the actual wheeling / camping / expedition events. I know that makes me a less than ideal member but at this point, it is what it is.

Completely understandable Andy, lets not make this a chat thread about the club, but I understand, all in all the events and wheeling is what draws individuals to a club. Logistics for a small meeting isn't always first priority on some peoples minds, but in an effort to contribute to those wheeling trips ideas need to be expressed and our intentions from this point forward is to focuss on these ideas as we meet, while keeping all individuals in mind.

Sounds good. Not big on chat either, just a long winded answer to your question.

Good luck in the upcoming meeting.

I won't be there. See OBX/Cullowhee thread for my proxy authorization.

Cary @ Crossroads, It's an important meeting so any of you on the edge try your best to make it out.

What's going on?

I should be able to make it, gonna try and drive the buggy up there just for giggles.

Hmmm...having some trouble finding that location on google maps. Can someone give me an address so I can see how far a drive this is? Last meeting wasn't too far away, but if this adds another half hour to my dirve, I don't know if I can swing it.

Sorry... We call it Cary Ale House, but it's Carolina Alehouse in Cary. Here's a link to their website: http://www.carolinaalehouse.com/locations.shtml

It's on Walnut Street coming from your area it's I40 till you it Cary, take the 1 and 64 exit south, not 100% sure, but the next exit on 1/64 should be for Walnut St. I know they're doing contstruction on that exit, but don't know if they've closed it off or not.

Once coming off the exit (if it's the right one), you're making a right onto Walnut, passing a Circuit City/Lowes on your right, going throught the stop light and making a right into the shopping area where it is located. There's a BJ's, Petsmart, Kohl's in the same shopping center, but look towards the Golden Corral for CAROLINA Ale house :)

Sorry it's longwinded, Mapquest for additional (Better) directions.. :D

How many minutes past Brier creek or wherever we met at the applebees do you think that is? I have to be at umstead park at 2pm so I don't think it's too far from that is it? Maybe 10 miles?
