seperating tcase from 4 spd!???

hey guys well i yanked out my motor with tranny and t case i havent touched the tranny but im doing a swap with a 4bt and nv4500 so i need to mate the nv4500 with the t case i bought the adapter from a&a adapters but ive heard that pulling the t case from the original 4 spd is kind of a hassle? any ideas ?

It's not that bad of a hassle to remove the t-case. You have to split the t-case and remove the inners because there are a few bolts either 4 or 5 depending on what model year that bolt the t-case to the transmission. The best advice is to go by the FSM it is right on on removeing the t-case. Now would definitely be the time to order a t-case rebuild kit as you will have to replace some gaskets. Just personal opinion but if you can remove the tranny and t-case from the engine and set it up right as in the input shaft facing the ground with the tranny on blocks and the t-case sitting up in the air. This way is easier becuase you don't have to worry about dropping and loosing parts as easily. Any more questions just ask.
