whats so s***ty about it?? thats what this country seems to be based on anymore.
guy is lookin to make a buck, its capitolism at its finest.

Its a rip off. I personaly will feel bad if some one pays that much for my old truck. I believe in representing the truck honestly and selling it at a price that is true to that. this guy is looking to rip some one off plain and simple. theres no way that my old truck was worth that much (I know i built it from the ground up)

whata jerk
mike

I had that happen once. When I bought my LC I sold my 88 Pathfinder. It was a tough little beast but it needed bottom end work among other things. I was asking 2k and let him talk me into 1k cash. I saw it a week later in front of his house for 3k. Screw it I got new tires and rims out of it and now I drive a CRUZA!

no i didnt buy from him but i know others who have. i dont understand how people can be such jerks.

mike

I understand where you are coming from on this, but to an extent I have to disagree. It isn't your truck any longer, and the new owner can do anything he wants with it, inclucing selling it for far more than it is worth. That might make him a crook, but the world is full of crooks.

At some point, the buyer needs to become an informed buyer, and not pay too much for something. It does prove that you are a far better person than the person who bought it from you, but it isn't really any of your business any longer.

With the Cruiser market where it is today, you sold it too cheap. I thought it was a good deal at $5k and wished my cousin would've bought it. We live in a capitolist society and that's what the guy who bought it from you is. He capitolized on your generosity. Same reason I prefer to have my employees do their own reviews. Most people are harder on themselves than I ever would be and they talk themselves out of a raise. Then there's the few who think that the company can't survive w/o them and they talk themselves out of a job. You shot down your truck to the point that you convinced yourself that is was worth less than it was.

When people ask me what something is worth, I always start with, "It's worth what someone will pay for it."
If someone will pay more than what I will then that is what the item is worth... to that guy, not me.

Some examples from my own dealings where I was the Capitolist. I used to deal in rare vintage VW parts and accessories. Most people have no idea what kind of money there is in this market. I purchased a set of 5 accessory wheels for my bug for $350. I ran them for prolly 8 years or so. In that time I saw maybe 10 more sets sell for around $1500 a set for 4 wheels. I decided that because I had 5 and they were the cleanest unrestored set I had ever seen that i wanted $3k for them. Highway robbery? YUP. But I didn't need to sell them and if someone else wanted them that bad, then that's what they were worth. Put 'em on Ebay for $3k and sold them for $3250 on a 3 day auction. Although I've seen other people try, I've never seen another set sell that high. That's what they were worth on that day to that guy. They've switched hands 3 or 4 times since and everyone has lost money on them. I almost bought them back for $1500 last year but missed out by a couple days. I'll get 'em back at some point for less than I sold em for and I'll run them on he car I bought with the money I made on them.

Sold a radio, that I bought for $75 about 7 or 8 years ago, to a guy in Belgium for $900 about 3 or 4 months back. And to tell ya the truth, I don't feel bad about it at all. Like Rhino said, this is what the very foundation of our society is based on. If people are too naive to do their research before paying too much, or too impatient to wait for that great deal, then so be it.

He got a good deal from you and the next buyer will loose a little at the new asking price. Seems kosher to me.

You are experiencing sellers remorse. I think that guy was crafty and saw an opportunity to make some money. You are just pissed that you didn't think of it yourself.

Pissed yes but to say im pissed becasue i didnt think of it myself is rediclulous. Why would i sell a truck for WAY more then its worth. yes the guy saw a way to make some cash but hes going to do it at some one elses expence. i know this truck up and down and what its capable of and how much work it needs. Let me tell you it needs alot of work. and alot of money put into it to be worth anything near that. If he sells it for that much cool, go him, he did what i refused to do. I just feel sorry for the poor basterd that buys if from him and then realized he got fawked. simple as that.

Hell, I bought a mug for an old collage team that hadda change their name cause of the indians... Anyway, it was $0.50 at a locol thrift store and have off orange sticker day so I got it for $0.25!! Point is I put it on eBay for buy it now $50 and sold it in under an hour! You think I thought he over paid! Hell now, I thought I should have put it up for $75!

Point is, we sell for different reasons and some people undersell due to time or money issues. You coulda got $10,000 if you were willing to wait long enough!
