Hey Guys,
Unfortunately, circumstances are requiring me to liquidate some things... I figured I would offer it here prior to posting it on Ebay. I will probably be setting my reserve at $7k (firm on Ebay) but am happy to entertain offers from any of you that may be interested 'locally'. Here are the facts:

1983 Fj40 RHD out of Australia
  • Purchased from a fellow MUD member in Jan 2007
  • Approx. 306,000 kms on it (~190,000 miles)
  • New Paint on the main body- Olive Green #653
  • Herculiner interior
  • Hard Top and Doors are still original white
  • New Radiator from Radiator Barn (original had a small crack at the top- never overheated since I have owned it
  • New Thermostat and housing
  • Replaced exhaust gaskets (the gaskets at the exhaust headers)
  • Regularly changed oil
  • Rebuilt (from MUD member) heater core (original leaked)
  • (5) New BFG 33"x9.5 15 AT's maybe 3000 miles on them.
  • Power Steering
  • Dual Fuel LP and Gas (curently idles on LP- runs really rough when i hit the gas- honestly never really looked into it- but it's there)
  • Master Brake cylinder has a leak- I haven't looked into it yet- but manageable i believe.
  • Small oil leak at the rear main- maybe two drops per week- but worth mentioning
  • I added a tachometer.
  • Is currently registered in CT and is completely legal
  • Title in Hand
I'm sure there is more I am forgetting- so please ask if interested. The paint is by no means perfect- my first attempt at painting a vehicle... I do have issues at the rear corners- I thought I properly mitigated the rust, but obviously didn't- so it will need some attention soon. I have two bucket seats from a pre '79 40- the driver's seat is installed- have not had the time to get the passenger one in- needs some minor fabrication to make fit. The frame is solid and the body is nice... The truck runs great and starts up with really no issue.

Let me know if any of you have question or would like to see it.

I have added a couple of photos that I have on my work computer- will take some more (as it currently has the hard top and doors on it) very shortly and will post them up- feel free to check out some more pics under my profile too.

This totally sucks- but I would really like it to go to one of you guys if at all possible. Any and ALL feedback welcomed.

Cheers all.
Jamie.

Hey Jamie. Sorry to see you sell. At least you can always get another one. Good luck with the sale.

Hi All,
I am offering this up one more time to the 'local' folks here. Since my last post- it has decided to stop running. It is an electrical problem- no spsrk at the plugs. I have NO time or $$ to put into it and am in need of the garage space for the winter. Some facts of the latest issue:
  • Ran fine- then one day pulling out of the driveway just died.
  • through some inspection- found the points spring literally broke in half.
  • Replaced the points
  • Replaced the condensor
  • Replaced the Cap and Rotor
  • Replaced the Coil
  • Replaced the ignition switch
I am at a loss and need it out of my garage- I would like to offer it to you guys for $4k as is. Make me an offer... please.

Thanks all- just looking to be completely fair and give my wife her garage space back... (also need a cheap 4x4 for the winter... we can talk possible trades as well) ugh!

Again- I am SURE that anyone with a bit of time and more understanding than what I have (electrically) will have it running with NO issues.

Thanks all. :crybaby:

Who says that he wouldn't fit, maybe he'll sit in the back and drive from there.

Looks like Rick bought it. Just talked to Barton. Do seat extenders work on the 40 series.

yes I bought it and I do fit behind the wheel rather comfortably. I need to get the white 80 out of my garage before breaking the good news to my wife.

Welcome to the world of 40's!

Good luck with it Rick- nice meeting you and talking with you... ask me- you got one hell of a deal. ;)

I'm very glad it's going to one of you guys.

Enjoy- and I'll be back... for good next time!

Thanks all for the advice and instruction.

Rick? a 40? We must be in bizzaro world. That's a nice truck. Good grab!
