Guys, I'm taking a serious look at getting TJM T 13 front bumper for my Land Cruiser 100 along with an Engo12,000 pound winch. Does anyone in Southern California have either one of these items? If so, any interest in meeting up for a beer or a cup of coffee in the next couple weeks? I'm located in Glendale but I will drive out a ways to see it. From my experiences, pictures and descriptions are great but just not the same as seeing it in person and I can't find a local vendor Who has either one of these items in stock.

Due to overwhelming responses, I'm reposting this :)

I just picked up a TJM T13 from Metal Tech and seem to remember them saying it was the last one that TJM had from their most recent shipment. I started looking last year around September and they are hard to come by. Hoping for it to be delivered this week. Good luck with your search.

I'm three months away from making what I hope will be a TJM T13 purchase.
The only obstacle in my mind is that it will take a shop with perhaps some fabrication experience if it doesn't fit my model LC.(2000). I'm not terribly worried about it.

Bottom line, my advice is if you're even 50/50 on this, then go for it. I would worry more about obtaining the bumper than I would problems with the install. I've seen three TJM bumpers on 80 series cruisers and I was quite impressed. The design and build is there, and I wouldn't read too much into a lack of supply. Kinda sums up Australia. Be ready to be patient.

Got it! Looks like grabbing coffee and checking out TJM or ARB bumper is out of the question. I'll decide on one and move ahead.

Yeah, I can completely understand your reticence about that bumper. It just seems like ARB and a few others are more popular, and they are, but the reasons are simply they advertise, market and support their product a bit better. But having seen TJM bumper on 80 series, I was hooked, but it has been perplexing to see one installed on a 100.

My path to a decision was just to find some fabrication guys that had previous experience with the TJM and all said that if it did require some bending here and there, it wasn't a big deal. So to make a long story short, some of the people selling the 'other' products know they'll end up doing the install and they simply want to make their lives easier is my guess.

I like the design of the TJM and the jacking points in particular. If it's going on my rig, I have to like it, so the main obstacle was simply would the TJM fit. My only advice is make sure you have an install guy that handle some fabrication work if necessary. I'm convinced that TJM would sell more bumpers in the US if they marketed a bit better and supported their product, but I think they're content with the market share they have..

I spoke with metal tech about ARB and TJM bumpers today, I don't see any reason not to go to TJM. Two thirds the price ($945 shipped to me vs. $1450) and from what I was told, same quality and better, more appealing design.

hey mate, give me a bit and ill get you some photos of mine. T13 steel black bar on a white 2000 FZJ105 :)

Realizing this isn't a "which bumper to buy" thread, I wonder of you've looked at the Ironman. I also looked at the T13, but decided against it and in favor of the Ironman. They're both around the same price (cheaper than ARB) but the Ironman came with lights/harness and didn't require removing the frame horns. I also wasn't in love with the bolt on plates on the wings of the T13.

Just a thought...

Photos Perro? I think the Ironman brand is legit, so it's definitely an open question.

Pics and a bit of detail on the Ironman install:

Another, this one with one of @2000UZJ 's light bars mounted.

As I received it, powder coated black (before installation, had it powder coated to match my wheels and Slee rear bumper).

Had to relocate the pump for my Helton shower, but below that in this pic you can see the winch mount, installed over the frame horns.

The hardest part of the install was getting the bumper aligned. I ended up bending/rolling back the lip below the headlights (seen here touching the bumper).

All to get this nice, even gap along the sides.

Guys, great input and thanks for the pictures.

Iron man is a consideration but I'm leaning towards TJM, and that's just purely personal preference. Also, their distribution center is in Southern California and I might just take a drive out to the shop to take a look at some bumpers.

Dorz, appreciated very much, and I very much enjoy the photos of your rig!

What kind of antenna mount is that on your bumper?
