I was looking at my headliner as I was driving today, and noticed it goes all the way down the a-pillars. How are you going to remove it? is part of it going back in?

I would lose it, weld it shut. I hate mine - it's heavy, leaks, is noisy - not that the last two are of concern to you at this point.
