Ok, while my fj62 is in atlanta getting ready for the conversion, I want to replace the front seats with power, heated replacements. I did a search which I am undoubtedly doing wrong to find exact seats that will fit. I understand we will have to modify the bases, but I don't know about the dimensions. I heard early 90's Honda, Volvo, Audi seats will work but what models and exact year models. I have a place in Atlanta that I can get any German import set of seats for only 300 dollars. Thanks in advance.

there aren't any aftermarkets that will be a direct fit replacement..... only adapter brackets for the new seat in question or custom fab'ed ones for your auto manufacturer swap

try for the BMW seats - they're excellent. you'll have to fab brackets....

Maybe it will be converted or maybe it wont :flipoff2: Now I know who you are. Cant wait for this weekend!

I saw some nice Bestop seats on a 40 in the shop. A bit spendy but fit in well.

dd113, the key words in the above post is "getting ready" for a conversion. I guess I should have said awaiting for a conversion. :flipoff2:

Read somwhere that the Ford Mekur fronts are an easy swap. Good luck. Let us know what you end up doing, my wife would die for heated buckets and w/ a Mean Green on order there should be no shortage of power to keep her buns warm.

Saab seats are very comfortable. I have sold people these seats for cruiser swaps but I think it was for a 40. I don't know if the 60 seat brackets are the same as 40's but i have heard Saab seat mounts are the same width as the 40's making for a pretty easy swap. In the North east Saab are all over the oplace so these seats are easy to find. Early saab seats are heated but not power, later ones are both.

I'd go with the BMW 3-series seats Recaro Style- used in the mid 80's, 325 E and ES models. I've done 2 cross-country trips in that seat- what a joy. No power or heat if that's important to Ya.
