SILVER Star
I'm not really sure where this one belongs so for now I have dropped it here.
I love my troopy dearly, but as cavernous as the rear bay is, it lacks storage of any kind. I've had a box (good but unwieldy and takes up too much room) and a bag (too sloppy and not organized enough).
So for a while now I've had this idea of using the bolts on the backs of the seats to secure a custom-made set of storage panels. And so we arrive at the attached pictures and the nearly complete first draft of this idea.
You can see that I did a molle-compatible series of straps on the back of the driver's (RHD) seat and on the longer passenger seat, a tall pouch to hold paper towels and then three additional velcro-closing pockets (one long, two smaller) for various bits and pieces. On the rear of each panel I threaded tent poles cut to size at the top and bottom to keep it rigid from left to right.
So far, so good. I have a little more sewing to do on my trusty Sail Rite Ultrafeed and then this small project will be out of my head. I already have thoughts about how to improve it and there are, of course, tons of ways in which it could be varied/adjusted to specific usage. One of the most basic adjustments is that you could have the large molle area on the left and the pockets behind the driver.
In any event, lots of applications. Will post more pictures once the final version is complete.
