So...just got cold enough her to use seat heater, but the passenger side no longer works - LED won't illuminate (I actually had it fixed about 1.5 years ago, so I know what it looks like when correct).

I just had the recall done about 3 weeks ago - have not used seat heater since then. Does anyone know if the seat belt/air bag recall might involve the seat heater assy - maybe not plugged back in?

Start by checking to see if they happened to forget to connect one of the plugs under the seat. There are at least 2... Maybe a third. Can’t remember.

Thank you, will do so. It is just such a PITA to get under there.

The weird part is that from what I understand the seat does NOT need to be removed to complete the recall.

Yank the plastic covers on the floor that hide the main bolts that hold the seat down. Move the seat all the way rearward. Plugs should all be visible under the forward/outer corner under driver and front passenger. Likely tucked up and under. By default, they may have tape sort of connecting the male/female side of each...but ok to remove those.

Not saying this is your issue...but simple stuff like this can happen...and it’s always fun to discover a simple fix.

Update, as suspected, the recall (checked w the techs) does not impact the seats at all. Will check connectors again (still wrestling with the plastic seat covers - don't want to bust any clips) under seat. But..I doubt they came loose.

Any other ideas anyone has to check? I do recall on a recent road trip my wife fetching something out of the back seat so stood on her seat (the one with inoperative seat heater) - wonder if she could have busted the element?

So frustrating - especially when I have almost 20 year old seat heaters working fine since day one in an '02 and '05.....

I swapped my own belt and can confirm you do not touch the seat or go under the seat at all. The connectors touched are in the B-pillar and dont involve the seat heater. Sound like maybe standing on it could have damaged an element but I would think they should be hardier than that. You may have done this but since it was not mentioned did you check the fuse?

Thanks, Ali, good question on the fuse - I understand (could be wrong?) that both front seat heaters share the same fuse - so both would be "out" if the fuse were the culprit.

due to the amount of amps the heaters pull they are on different fuses:

Ugh - both are "good" - even swapped them to no avail. Ali, thank you, nevertheless.

While ai have you all - any "hints" on how to remove the seat "front skirt" so I can check all connections are good?

Potential new thread idea: as we pull plastic covers and do various work, one place to post pictures of the backs of these parts to help others understand where to pull and what we are dealing with?

Good idea.
If there had been a “Panel Pullin Pics)” thread (“PPP”) ;) a few years ago...I know I could have thrown a whole mess o photos up, as could others.

SEEING them come off is amazingly helpful...especially scary-looking stuff like entire dashboards, etc. Several posts here helped my own william guess to start tanking things out...

Would need to come up with a first-post guide of some kind that would help folks post in helpful ways...like using key words, etc. Sort of like a mini-FAQ thread.

Already digging through my pics to get this going.

My seat heaters have also stopped working, which is a new development. I haven't really used them since last winter, but my daughter's mentioned a few times that she didn't think they were working over the last month or so. I was thinking it might be the fuses, so I'll check today. If it's not the fuse I haven't got a clue what else it could be to fix this issue!

are you a 100 or 200 series? If 200 it's either the "module" or the actual switch itself. The former being almost expensive repair.

My 100 seat heaters operated flawlessly for almost 20 years - this 200?...not so much....

Haha, yes it's a 100 I just realized I'm in a 200 thread, sorry about that.

Sorry to dig up an old thread but did this ever get resolved? I am having the same issue with the passenger seat heater. I am assuming the module needs replacement.
