'01 LX here. I've searched and read all the threads related to these two issues I'm dealing with.

Looking to replace my seatbelts which no longer retract well even though I've cleaned the slide with Velcro, and cleaned the belts to no avail. Belts are starting to get chewed up from the family slamming the door on them. Anyways, does anyone know if my seatbelts have pre-tensioners in them, or are they passive? Anyone done them before and have an approximate cost for the part/labor?

I'm also wondering if anyone knows what the P/N for the seat memory module, and it's location inside the cabin. The Seat Memory function is no longer working, but I can still adjust the seats. The mirrors no longer dip when I'm in reverse, and I'm hoping that is tied into the module failure. Any ideas?

Thanks for your help everyone!

The seatbelt unit comes in an assembly that should be bolt on. I think you can make this repair yourself if you have a socket set. There are several toyota parts websites with part numbers and prices.

The seat position memory, you'll need to determine if the switch (buttons) assembly has failed or the ecu for that system, or a fuse perhaps.

The mirror issue, check and see if the right/left selector on the switch is in the middle. The mirrors will not go down in reverse if middle is selected.

The mirrors have been acting weird for many years now. originally, the mirrors would dip in reverse, but not return to normal position, and eventually, not dip at all. The seat memory worked only when the door was open, and the ignition was off. Now the memory doesn't work at all. I'm hoping to find the part number of the control module so I can try to track one down, either used or new.

I have the same problem with the seat memory not working. Everything else about the power seats does work, just not the memory function.

arthbkins...Do your outside rear view mirrors dip when you put the truck in reverse? I'm still trying to figure out if this is associated with the seat memory module. Sounds like that might be located behind the glove box iirc.

lol - iirc your side mirrors dip in reverse when the mirrors are set to left or right but when set to middle neutral setting they don't dip in reverse. At least that's how itms always worked on mine.

agaisin- Yep, mine used to work like that before I started having issues with the seat memory. Just seeing if these are connected or if it's just coincidence that they're both broken at the same time.

chingwodapigu - yes, my mirrors are still dipping correctly in reverse depending on position of the mirror switch. This is on a 2003 LX470. The seat memory has never worked ever since I bought the car about a year ago. Yes, I've read the manual and tried every possible combination and nothing happens when I push the memory buttons. My mechanic took a look at it when he had the door panel open for something else and said there wasn't anything obvious like a dangling wire. I haven't investigated further.

Drivers side lumbar control has stopped working reliably since I bought the car but my guess is that's unrelated as it was intermittent and seemed to only have issues inflating reliably not deflating the lumbar support.
