For a few weeks now Search has been unable to find threads I know are there, one thread I even went through the pages found the thread and copy pasted words into search and search still could not find the thread.

As a current example I know of two threads in the 80's section that have " verbose " in the title

I have tired searching for verbose several different ways, by section, author, titles only, unlimited etc. search cannot find these two threads.

But yet here is one, I found it by searching for threads I started, If I could remember the author of the other I could find it also.

https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=35679

In the past few weeks it seams that search can only find about half the threads I know are out there, seams like it may be getting worse.

Is the data base getting too large? At another forum I was involved with attachments were not allowed because of bandwidth and database size. It is nice to be able to attach stuff but.........

attachments and avatars are not stored in the database, they are in a separate file system.

I'll again rerun the reindex.

That was quick,

Glad to hear on both accounts.

any idea what is causing this to happen?

the php, mysql, and other software on the server is slated to be upgraded, there just hasn't been time yet.....once those are up to date, the problem should go away.

Thanks Brian.

:)

still no worky :frown:

I don't know.

vBulletin is releasing a major upgrade to their software.

The server software still hasn't been upgraded too, bigger project than anticipated.

"verbose" is apparrently a word that shouldn't be searched for ;)

works now :)
