Thanks guys. It turns out that the hilux and the bj70 seal are the same, or at least appear the same. I kind of expected this because according to some rescources on the web the axle shaft diameter is the same, but the pinion is smaller on the hilux. I was kinda strapped for transportation and a fella owning a shop called Yota Dan came buy my office and dropped a couple off. this was expensive though. Just to be sure I called a local dealer (Henninger) and told them my tale and asked if the parts were the same. When he looked up the applications from the correct part number the hilux did not show up, but I was not surprised. Nevertheless, he offered to send two seals with thier driver to my office. Sitting the two seals side by side, they look the same. So I now have three extras.
This brings me to another question. Suppose I had to swap a birf in the field. Can a fella just pop the hub and circlip off the axle, the brake line, and remove the (cant think of the words right now) knuckle bearing caps, to get at the birf? Seams to me to be a slightly easier way than removing the spindle.
