Hey guys i am shopping for a screen tent /shelter for the rainy trips
Just wondering if anybody has some input .
Which would you recommend
Am looking for this myself.
I've come up with two choices to address two distinctly different problems with their pros & cons.
E-Z Up Dome: Rain, shade & bugs and lots of accessories like walls, screens etc..., heavier & sturdier, streight walls, more shade

Coleman Skyshade; Bugs, cheap, light, Not good for rain due to sloped walls, less shade

Look at the Clam shelters. I have an 11.5' and I can pop it up by myself in 5 minutes or less.

We camp with a Gazelle G7 screen tent. It goes up and packs down crazy fast. Tons of interior space when set up. The ceiling is not waterproof and drips some when it raining, but some seam sealing tape would likely fix that issue. The down sides are that it is an awkward shape when paced up (long and skinny) and in the wind it really does need all of the guy lines to be out. Hope that helps.
Cheers,
Scot

After seeing how easy they go up and down we got a Clam to replace our tried and true 10x10 metal-framed Coleman / E-Z Up.

There are some trade-offs WRT efficiency of space as it's hexagonal rather than square; e.g. a picnic table always seems oddly placed inside but the overall hexagonal footprint often settles into areas better than a square. Also, anything with more than three legs works best on even ground, and these have 6 legs vs 4. They are also longer when packed and seem awkward at first but are much lighter than any metal framed version I've used.

I bought the supplemental roof panel and a full set of walls. Absolutely love it. We are out of the rain or bugs in just a couple of minutes.

One catch on the Clam, I accidently got a version that did not have flaps along the edges of the roof to overlap the wall panels and better seal out rain - make sure you get the one WITH flaps and you'll be happier when it rains.

Looks like the Gazelle is the same design.
