Is anyone with an 80 series and a Scangauge tracking their water temp? I am running 35's, stock gears, armor, etc. I have been averaging 193-207 right now as it warms up here in Tucson. And what would be "Scary Hot" for our trucks.

Thanks in advance.

ScanGauge and Temp. issues

The air conditioning was cutting out on my rig when I purchased it last year. Yep, overheating. The scangauge was showing the temps around 218 to 220 when the air cut out. I replaced the radiator and rebuilt the fan clutch and have been running in the temp range you are reporting.

Yeah, I over heated last year pulling my camp trailer up to the Chiracahuas. Wife and 2 little ones were not happy!

I usually run between 190-205 in my '95. Last summer when it was a little hotter I remember temps reaching 212 or so, but rarely over that. During the cooler months this year I ran a consistent 181 - even on long road trips.

FWIW I'm on 33's, stock gears, and rarely run the A/C.

I'm running around 185-190ish right now on 285's w/ a small lift and stock gears. I'm almost wondering if i'm to low and causing extra wear on my engine. During the winter I was running 160-170's. Previous owner installed a blue fan clutch. and maybe put in a lower temp thermostat...gotta pull it and see.

Have you upgraded the fan clutch fluid?
IMHO a mandatory upgrade for any clutch fan rig driven in AZ desert.

Not yet Kevin. I wanted to get some feedback first and then prioritize, this helps, thanks.

For the temps right now that's high imo. I agree with Kevin upgrade the fluid ASAP before it gets really hot. in the winter months I run in the 180's and now I am running in the low to mid 190's I think my Thermostat opens at 186 because I sit at that temp a lot. With my JDM pusher fan I have found that my temps will go down just sitting in a parking lot running now.
