Another pic....

I got the roll bar out of the front door without cutting it. It was a Man-A-Fre bar. I think I found a home for it too. Thanks for the advice. Boy that door lock cylinder was a pain in the bum to put in.......that little wire clip was a task to put in place!

I spent 4 or 5 hours with cleaner and my pressure washer, taking 40 years of grease off of here and there. I put new greasable shackles, pins, and bushings for the front springs. They are the Aussie parts that are anodized. VERY nice products. The holes in the frame pivot pins were actually not exactly in the right spot and I had to drill them out oversized by just a hair to get the two bolts in per pin. No biggie. I used synthetic grease for the bushings.

I got the 3 speed linkage working with a simple shot of brake cleaner and penetrating lube. I got to drive it for the first time!! Just had to pump the brake pedal real fast every time I wanted to stop, and I stayed in first gear to make sure that I didn't go too fast. I'm lovin it!! Next is the brakes.

Old bumper ...... new bumper. I know, not exciting, but it looks much better and doesn't have plates welded to the front to cover tow bar holes that were ripped through.

Bezel Police, notice the correction. ;)

Where did you get the bumper and how much $$$$$

Where did you get the bumper and how much $$$$$

I got it from Specter. Here is the link to the listing and prices, with and without Club membership. I advise to get the membership if you are going to spend over $300.00 or so. The bumper is a Toyota part and is exactly like the original and well painted (powder coated), except there are some additional holes that are not in the original for my '66 nad '67. The "additional" holes must be original for a later model Land Cruiser.

I believe Black rims were correct for 1967 with the "T" moon style hubcaps

I agree that the hubcaps should be the other style to be TRULY correct, but where to get those???? As for the wheel color, it appears that most old pictures have them black, but I have seen some in off-white/cream/grey??? (It is hard to tell in black and white ads) I sure don't prefer black. :meh:

i saw the moon hub caps for sale in australia somewhere, ill try and find where,i found a similar vintage 40 at my local wreckers, supprisingly no serious rust, just surface rust, they dont build them like they used to,mine has the original rims, but no hub caps,oh and its had a 327 chev put in it,but still has the 3 speed,im in australia, not sure on the year model of mine, but hand brake is in same position as my 79 hj45,good find and all the best with the resto

Thanks for the advice. I am trying to put in the new exhaust and snapped one of the two studs on the manifold. I am goin to try to drill it out and hope it is not a bunch of :bang:. I replaced the master cylinder, bled everything, and cleaned all of the brakes of dirt and grime. Very surprisingly, none of the wheel cylinders appear to be leaking! Once the exhaust is done, im off to emissions, and then it is drive time!!!!!

I will definitely post more pics as I go.

Well, it flew through emissions, and I have since replaced the GM 1 barrel carb (was an exact fit) for the correct Aisin. I have begun to take the old paint off, down to bare, clean metal, and am priming it with a Zinc rich primer as I go. It is a great primer and is a nice brown. I have replaced all of the bushings now, the exhaust is finished, and is coming along rapidly. I have sooooo many parts to restore this 67, but cant put many of them on/in until I strip and prime, at a minumum. Also going to replace the water pump, due to the fact that the current pump squeals every so often and the fan can be moved by hand back and forth ever so slightly.

Here are a few pics of the body strip/prime. I have no particular order of attack. :p The very slight dent next to the tail light in the second picture is the ONLY dent/body flaw on the entire truck and is VERY repairable.
