Hey guys Id love to tag along from the south if you have room for a stock armored and locked 80 with some ats. It would be myself and my spotter...aka Dad. We goin Cb or ham for coms?? all to do at the moment is rig one up ...
Im craving a little low range. There is another guy in a stock 40 who has the bug as well!

a stock 80 could do this trail. as far as count - plenty of room, this doesn't have a turn around, and the 'lunch spot' is a field that would fit 30 trucks.

i'll have CB with me, my ham is in "listen only mode" until i pass my exam, but i'll keep an ear out for you if you share the freqs you want to use.

Count me In. Planning on meeting up at the service station off I-81. 1 rig with the whole family (4) and if my wife packs like normal we should have enough food for a small army.

Looks like I might have the Saturday free. Have you guys settled on a meeting spot? I couldn't spot it in the thread ...

Pasted from prev page:

Proposed Agenda--Saturday April 7th -- Peter's Mill Run

0745-0845 Meet somewhere for breakfast (from the East, i'll be stopping @ IHOP in Gainsville, just off 66 in the mall to the east of 29, I'll be there by 7:45am, rolling out in an hour)

0930 meet at Edinburg Shell Station, just off the east side of exit #279 on I-81 to buy day-pass $5/vehicle (please be prompt, we'll be rolling out "by 10am" so people with afternoon deadlines aren't hurting)

1000-1400 Trail Ride; the trail head is east of town across the river on SR 675. The trail is identified on Google Maps as "Powell Mountain Trail". It goes North/Northeast for about 15 miles.

Optional: The north side ends near Woodstock Tower, with great views over the "Seven Bends" of the Shenandoah River. We'll have to make time to hike the 1/4 mile to the actual tower and take in the vistas over the treetops!
1400-1500 Firetower climb

Sweet I emailed you . We will be at the shell at 0930hrs.

Matt, thx for the pics! It was great meeting up with everyone. Had a great time, minus the near loss of my rear window ;-)
Tasker's after Peter's Mill was awesome, but can't imagine I would have been able to do it in the wet w/o lockers - a big "Maybe."
As before, here is a link to some of my photos - Flickr: LAND4SAND's Photostream
Hope to see all of you again soon.

Yep wet woulda caused a few tree bounces!!
I had fun nice meeting you guys. I did use a locker in a couple spots to hold my line with the ats. New shoes are on the to do list this season.

Nice meeting the new folks and a great first trail ride for my Cruiser. Bonus: Nothing fell off or broke (that I've noticed so far).

Michael

I had great time with you guys! When are we going again?!? Also, enjoyed learning more about the FJ40 and series 80. I have many photos to upload and will get around to it later tonight. Here are a few that I've captured with my phone.

my next two weekends are booked, but anytime after that i'm down for another outing.

Sweet matt If you have the coin ...armor up!! I kinda wanna plan a trip to Uhwarrie . Its down a little past Raleigh. The UC guys are going this weekend but I am booked as well. The trails there are more mild to wild! Havent been yet but My buddy lives not far from there.

Fernando,

Thanks for the invite you sent me. Looks like you guys had a great time (as always). I am sorry i could not make it. Every year we go camping on Easter weekend with all my wife's family otherwise i would have been there. Looks like you could have used another white cruiser :).
