Sat 12/22 Cottonwood Creek Big Rocks (1 Viewer)

I'm headed back down to the 4 Peaks area this Saturday to run Cottonwood Creek through the Big Rock Garden all the way to the shores of Saguaro Lake. It is an out and back trail, so we will have to run the rocks both ways.

Looking back at the Google history of this trail (aka Sandy Beach) it is evident from the photographic evidence that big tired (37+) buggies, Jeeps and even 4Runners have successfully navigated the Rock Garden but nothing as big as an 80. So keep that in mind, although you can always attempt what you feel comfortable with and then park and hike the rest of the way.

Meet at 4 Peaks staging area at 900am Saturday morning.

Wow! Sounds like I'm gonna miss a fun hike. Bummer for me. We have holiday travel plans that weekend. I hope you have fun!

We had a small group, just 3 of us. Had a GREAT time playing on the boulders in the canyon, trying to make headway towards the lake. We had to stop our forward progress within 100 yds of the last set of obstacles as it was already 3pm and had to turn back if we wanted out before dark. We then ran the rocks the opposite way which presented many different challanges just from turning around!

Worth it once you get there,in the summertime anyway!definately harder on the way out in my opinion.
