SAS front driveshaft

So I'm starting to make the list for SAS'ing my truck. I've been told by a friend with an 85 toy lifted 9 suspension on 40's that he's had no problem with his stock front driveshaft even flexing it out. Any thoughts? If I need a longer driveshaft is there any better solution than the expensive lengthening option.

I find that hard to believe. He must have some stiff springs. As mentioned make a square driveshaft if your trying to go cheap. I had High Angle Driveline build my driveshafts. My front CV driveshaft is now in the back and my rear driveshaft is in the front.

The Trail Gear long spline won't balance either. There is a ton of play in the splines, by design so they say. If you need to drive on the road in 4wd, ask your local driveline shop if they offer an in house solution. Mine was $280 to balance and lengthen an existing CV shaft and add a 10" travel spline kit.
 
Hmmm I'll probably do the square shaft. I never used 4wd on the road and I've heard that built properly they can be used up to 45mph w/o major vibes.

BTW is that trailgear shaft a kit to modify your stock driveshaft or a complete unit?
 
Build a square shaft and keep the stock one for winter driving.
 
i just built i square shaft for my truck, and it seems to work pretty good. never use 4 high over 45 or so, so i haven't noticed any vibes. just grease the hell out of it, so it quiets the steel clanking down.
