Hello!
I've just spotted this great looking trailer/tent setup on ebay. camping trailer with roof tent on eBay, also, Land Rover, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 15-Aug-08 17:41:54 BST)
It is like what I've had in mind for building myself for a longwhile, using the Sankey trailer as I am English. Just interested in what the trailer techs think of this setup. £2000 is roughly $4000US. Not sure if I could build one myself for that money here, including buying a roof tent.
Cheers for any feedback. :)

I think that's a fair price...I'm gonna have about $2,500 USD in mine once it's finished (not including my 5 -6 weekends labor) Go for it!! Nice setup!

x3 on buy it. there's a guy here that's got 3k into his trailer before RTT, changing room, trailer lid, etc.

Thanks for the feedback. It does seem like a fair price. Although I could pick up a Sankey for anywhere between £120-£300 depending on condition and then make it up how I want. But I can see the cost of that escalating. I've got a bit of time to ponder.... and check my bank statement!

That is cool!! I just picked up a sankey and can't wait to build it up!!

Good luck with the purchase!

Hi Fred,

I picked up an old jeep type trailer..I think from the 40's or the 50's. I'm gonna build it very simular to the one in the picture, it's in a thread a few topics down from this in the trailer forum. I actually wrote these folks (very nice peeps by the way) to ask them if it was top heavy to tow. He said in fact it was, and that they ran 25p.si. in the tires, which I think with that load would not be agood idea. He said it helped, but that a sway bar would be better. I think I would extend the tongue by a few feet and get some weight (coolers, cans, batteries) on it to help displace the top weight. That's my plan anyway..so if you see me walking funny..you'll know that my plan didn't work..and trailer ended half way up my A**

Her's a link to my build..I'm going to mount the tent this Sat.

haha! Just checked out your build thread- it looks great and has given me a bit of inspiration as to what I could do with a sankey, as wood is my best material to work with! That's great looking and can't wait to see the tent mounted up. Starting to think I should just pick up a Sankey trailer for under $400 and get working on it. My bank balance isn't going to look to great after blowind £2000+ on a trailer... I think that one on ebay would need a bit of anchorage/ballasting in the bottom, otherwise could get the wobbles.
Thanks for the feedback on here, Now go get that tent set up ;)
