1996 FZJ80 Land Cruiser – Built, Locked, Geared, Used as Intended – $20,000 OBO (because that’s what ChatGPT told me to list it for. Price is negotiable, just want us both to get a fair deal.)
If you’re worried about MPG, ride quality, or keeping your paint perfect… this probably isn’t your truck.
If you’re looking for something that will get you into situations you probably shouldn’t be in, and then somehow get you back out, this bad boy may be for you.
The basics
I don’t use it much anymore and don’t wheel like I used to. This thing deserves to be used the way it was built.
If you don’t want the extra parts, we can talk. But I think you’ll want the spare parts.
Can answer any questions you may have.

The basics
- 1996 FZJ80
- ~282k miles
- Clean title
- Mechanically solid
- Cosmetically: beauty is in the eye of the beholder… maybe a 6/10 (dents, scratches, trail scars included free of charge)
- Head gasket done around 210k, runs strong, no drama
- Interior is is good. Carpet replaced about three years ago. Front seats redone with leather from the guy who used to make seat cover replacements but went out of business. Can't remember the name. They've been covered ever since they were replaced.
- ICON 2.5 remote reservoir shocks
- 4.5” lift
- 4.88 gears
- 37” mud terrains (Cooper STT Pro, ~3k miles)
- Front Harrop e-locker
- Rear Aussie locker
- Double cardan driveshafts
- Dual batteries
- 12V Puma onboard air
- Custom front & rear bumpers
- Winch (worked before, hasn’t been used in ~3 years)
- Rock sliders
- Rear swing-out w/ full-size spare
- Full roof rack
- Birfields
- Driveshafts
- Misc 80-series parts
- Parts I bought and never installed, random wiring harnesses, etc.
- Spare passenger-side front fender (currently green… adds character or a future paint project depending on your outlook)
- This is not a mall crawler. It’s been used, and it shows
- Runs strong
- Ready to go wheel tomorrow
- No rust on frame
- Some rust where scratches weren’t rattle canned in time
- Rear tailgate has a rust spot that should be cut out and repaired (racquet ball size??)
- Front driver window needs some encouraging to get up. I just place my hand on it and push a little to get it to go up
- The driver seat adjustment controls got busted off at some point. They still work, just need to get in there with pen or something
- Probably one or two other minor inconveniences that I have gotten used to that I'm forgetting.
- $20,000 OBO with spare parts
