John,
Who are you kidding it wasn't Ron that scared him off, IT WAS YOU, I blame you anyway even if it was not your fault, your are still guilty.

Any seconds on this matter?

Oh ya Sam, your welcome here any time, and if John bugs you, just let me know.

It was pretty cool, I plan on returning.
While I'm here, can anyone fill me in on why all the laughter when I mentioned my rig to the group? Now I'm curious.

By the way, the picture is my newest, just wanted to show that the deathtrap I bought has become... better.

Sam - Laughter was related to the fact that you said you had purchaced your rig from someone who's name was Bob Millar or sounded like his name. Reason being he has been a club member for years if not since the beginning of the club and seems like the majority of us have bought, sold, traded, or ended up with a rig or partial rig that bob has owned at one time. Just funny how small a world it is sometimes. Welcome to the club and remember the pheonix will rise from the ashes.

Bob by the way your kids cruiser looks nice!

Okay, I was surprised myself when Mudrak knew about him too. I hadn't really come face-to-face with the whole community aspect of owning an LC.

They can be a salty bunch too.

So tell us Sam, whats in the mix for the cruiser ? Any plans on when it'll debut ?

We may have a small group going to Fordyce on Columbus day weekend and then the first weekend in Feb. we usually have a day at Pillsbury.

Look forward to seein ya out there.

Definitely recommend the Pillsbury Mud Run. Pretty much you can take any Toyota 4x4x you have. Bring REALLY warm clothes if you are running a 40 without a top...(John...) See pics from this year earlier in the forum. Good times! Thinking of bringing the kid's stock runner next year so she can show Ron Safreno how to keep up! She will have her learners permit, lord help me!

I'd worked out a very long-winded reply to this, but somehow lost it all by accidentally mashing the wrong button. (Apparently, the "kill everything" button is mislabled.)

My plans are: get my finances in order. Just got a sweet new job for the Sonoma County Sheriff's Department, and just as my finances were the worst ever. once that's done, my plans for the truck are pretty elaborate.
I grew up in the BSA (by growing up I mean that I'm twenty-one, and have been in Scouting for fourteen of those years) which made me into an avid backpacker, and consider myself a bit of an adventurer. So my goals for this truck are related more for good range (I've taken to the concept of 4X4 expeditions, lately), and road manners as opposed to making a crawling rig. That said, I still want a decent overall crawl ratio balanced in the mix. The plans are: Swap out the tired 3-speed for an SM465, and an Orion, with a Ranger Overdrive in there. Discs on the forward axle, (also getting rid of my Selectro hubs for Aisin) with sag steering, full-floater rear axle with late-model drum brakes, 3.73 rings and pinions all-around, 28-gallon main tank, 22-gallon reserve.

Eventually, I'd like to have the engine rebuilt, just so I know where I stand, and I'll throw in Vortec Heads, a TBI manifold, and overhead cams. Arb lockers are on the list for "distant future" as well. That said, I'm hoping to have the bulk of the work done by early spring. My goal is to get her together to the point she's street legal, and reliable, and then take her to Mudrak's under her own power for the driveline swap, brakes, and PS.

Anyway, all that said, this typing has reminded me that I can't type, and hate computers, so I'm signing off for tonight. Thanks for the warm welcome, I do plan on returning, and actually paying for a membership, once my bank stops yelling at me.
Be Blessed

By the way, the Fordyce run sounds awesome. That is, if it's the same Fordyce Lake in Nevada County I'm thinking of. I backpacked all around that area, and the lake I named Phoenix after is a few miles northeast(?) of there. That whole area is why I decided to get an LC, so I could go back.
