Today I pulled my radiator to have it flushed out in a shop and while I have the fan shroud out I'd like to re-paint it because it's looking pretty ratty. I have some flat black paint for metals at home, is this okay? Will the underhood temp be okay for it? i'm thinking yes but i wanted to make sure Thanks!

I got a can of flat black and have been touching up lots of stuff. Paint is paint, and whatever you use it on will eventually need to be repainted. Just my experience that some hitemp/corrosion resistant paint wasn't any better than a can of cheap stuff.

yes it is fine. it doesn't get to paint melting temps. it stays pretty cool.

I would use tremclad if I had to choose a rattle can. better paint IMOP
