My 1999 100 series is now making a significant clunk when turning to the right after a trip over elephant hill. It is most common when turning right but seems to also randomly occur when driving straight every five minutes or so. It makes several clunks in a row, not just one throughout the turn. I would like to get it home tomorrow and am wondering if it is safe to drive the 200 miles home at highway speeds. Any thoughts?

I think I would probably just disconnect the front driveshaft pull the flanges and drive home in rear wheel drive. It's safer, and a lot less messy than cleaning up cv grease. Just don't forget lock the cdl before dropping driveshaft. Just my 2 cents.
