so with the RW wheels and the KO2's on your stock 200, you can turn the steering wheel to full lock and no rub?

No rub at all with 285/70/r17 on stock suspension.

I have the KO's, not the KO2's; but yes, full lock, turn to turn, no rubbing on my stock LC200. This is a tire/wheel combo recommended by Toyota in their documentation, so I would expect no rubbing.

When I did mine in 2012, the current documentation from Toyota was for the 07+Tundra/08+Sequoia/Land Cruiser (17") TRD Alloy Wheel Part numbers PTR45-34120 & PTR45-34070. The recommended tire was the BFG All-Terrain T/A LT285/70R17 121/118R M+S.

Edit to add:

Here's the first page of the Toyota doc:

Any opinions on tire pressure? I know the RW door sticker says 46psi. I put 40 in there to start out with. Suggestions?

It's an e rated tire, so I would go with the recommended pressure of 46 psi

Everyone's eyes usually glaze over when I post all the math, so let's try some pictures.

Load limits for OEM tires on a stock 2013 LC200 with a recommended Cold Tire Pressure of 33psi F/R:

Load limits for the E-Rated BFG's showing that 39.3psi is required to meet the stock Load Limit adjusted for the difference between a P-Rated OEM tire and the LT-Rated BFG's:

Bottom line:

For a stock LC200 running the BFG LT285/70R17E 121/118R AT T/A KO tires, "The Book" says the recommended Cold Tire Pressure is 39.3psi.

Personally, I run 38psi around town, but if I'm going on an extended highway trip, I'll bump that up to 42psi.

In general, one would not be wrong to run 40psi F/R for everything.

P.S. The Toyota RW Door Sticker is incorrect. It fails to correct for the difference between the P-Rated OEM tires and the LT BFG's. If you examine the graphs, you will see that @33psi the OEM tires have a Load Limit of 2,512 pounds. On the BFG chart you will see that 2,512 pounds falls between 45psi and 46psi - Toyota rounded up to 46psi. If we were replacing LT-Rated tires with a different size LT-Rated tire, then the 46psi would be a good number. Unfortunately, Toyota failed to factor in the 10% difference between P-Rated Load Limits and LT-Rated Load Limits. When we do factor that difference in, we see that at 39.3psi the LT Load Limit is 2,286 pounds and when we multiply that by 1.1 (the 10% difference) we see that the adjusted Load Limit is 2,515 pounds - very close to the 2,512 pounds for the OEM tires.

I run mine at 40, and I've heard a number of others here running that as well.

Gaijin - that was perfect - I was trying to find an old post where you had that info.

I like the math - it proves the facts ;) I'll try 42 on the out of town trips. So far it rides a lot better than the OE dunlops. Wife likes it too (it's her mom vehicle). Anyway - all good here. Thanks for the feedback.

So if I get this right, a d rated or an e rated should be the same pressure?
I have the stock size bfg ko2 and when I calculated the load I ended with +- 40 psi.
And they are d rated.

Gaijin you are the tire yoda ! Thanks for your help.

@Island1064 Yes, that's correct. Toyota recommend the E-Rated tire, but D-Rated or E-Rated the recommended Cold Tire Pressure is the same for the same size LT-Rated tire.

This may have been covered and I simply missed it but if not, what is the weight difference of our stock 18" alloy vs the 17" TRD RW.

I had a single RW wheel shipped for my spare tire - UPS said somewhere sound 27lbs. Not sure if that is accurate...

If the TRD RW wheel weighs 24lbs, how much does the stock 18" on our LC weigh?

I weighed one of my stock tire and wheels and it totaled 72lbs (give or take). The tire rack website says that the Dunlop grand trek OE tire weighs 42lbs.

It looks like the stock wheel weighs about 30lbs.

The new KO2 weighed 58lbs plus the 24lb wheel. That totals up to 82lbs. It looks like I added about 10 extra lbs per wheel/tire combo.

I'm not surprised that the RW wheel is lighter - a forging should be lighter than a casting of similar size.
