I've got a '92 M101CDN trailer I'd like to repaint. I've been doing a lot of reading in this section. Typical Mud - lots of knowledgible guys very willing to help and share info.
The M101 doesn't have much more than some surface rust. A little scraping, wire wheel/wire brush can remove the stuff that's bubbled under the paint and there's still a very solid surface beneath it. No rot thru anywhere.
Is it worth the $$$ for Rust Bullet, or for a trail trailer, is Rustoleum Rusty Metal Primer and Professional High Performance Enamel going to suffice for both the underbody and body? Ive read too many comments about the rubberized underbody coatings drying up and flaking off, so doubt I'd go there.
Cost is an issue, otherwise I'd wheel it down and have the body/frame sandblasted and powdercoated or professionally painted.
I've already taken a high pressure washer to the entire trailer, so she's squeaky clean right now.
Any other prep hint or tips.
TIA
