I know the FJ are much to new for this but Im sure many of you have had Toyotas for many years.
Im wondering, Because of the boxed frames, Ive seen many Toyota trucks that were about to break in half at the rear axle because the frames were just about rusted through.
All my 4x4s have been Dodges and channel type frames so Ive never had more than surface rust.
Do you have your frames rust proofed on the inside?

I think that its toooo early to tell how the Fj will hold up over time. I have to assume that Toyota has improved their rust stopping methods, but the rust belt is the rust belt! If there is salt near, oil the hell outta that frame!

Ive used Ziebart on my sheetmetal in the past and that stuff is outstanding.
Its worth giving the guy an extra 20 and tell him you want to see the stuff ooozing out of the cracks.
Had one truck 15 years and in every snow that fell and nothing yet.

The FJC has special steel and coatings that help reduce the formation of rust. I dont think other FJs have this tehnology.

I see a little surface rust on mine already. I've hit it with some duplicolor truck bed liner. Hope to stave off the dreaded cancer.
Also sprayed the same where ever I saw body color on the under side.:)
