Ive got an 85 with bad rust behind the rear wheels. I saw an add for a landcruiser that had some kind of plastic fendder covering the rusted area. Anyone know where you can get one of these? Thanks

as a side not. If you cover it up it wont be a fix for it. It will continue to get worse. and worse and worse. Good luck which ever route you take.

Those look pretty cool. I have the same issues....too much rust to patch but could sure cut it out and cover. Has anyone on the board used these. If so, let us in on installation and satisfaction, etc. Thanks for the link.

Can you mount the fiberglass panels without the metal lip at the top of the wheel well?

I would think you would cut out all the rust and then patch as much metel as you can to accomodate mounting the fiberglass. Rustproof everything before mounting the fiberglass. Hopefully someon has already done this.

That's a 2nd, 3rd, and a 4th on rust proofing before covering.

Some of the worst rust I see was made worse by what was put over it to hide it and it ends up holding more moisture.

Por 15, Zero Rust (been testing this a lot lately and I like it), or something similar with proper prep is a little extra time and money well spent.

I cut the rust off of my fenders and welded in some new sheet metal (20g). I primed it with a 2 part primmer and I am going to use the covers above to cover the welds and imperfections. I think it will look good. Good luck!

fender flares

From what I remember - man-a-fre used to or may still sell them. Makes your 60 look more like 80. You have to remove mudflaps too.

Anyone know how they attached to the car?
