Hi folks - I'm looking for my 1st LC and could really use yalls $0.02 on how bad the rust is on this one. It's a 2013 that has lived in Connecticut all of its life. I definitely see some rust but IDK if it's surface rust or how bad it is.

Thanks in advance!

I'm in NJ and slowly shopping now too. If you tell me I must buy it from NE I'd take this no question. Everything I've seen in NY/NJ/PA has been similar or worse. And I'm only looking at 2016+

For a 2013 New England truck, this is extremely clean. Said by someone in MA that just got done with a search for a lower-mile 2016+ and wound up buying one from TX...this is not bad at all for a 10+ year old CT vehicle. You could find cleaner, but probably not in NE...

If you have to ask, it's too much.

This is coming from a Maine resident that has asked that question multiple times on this forum and need to keep reminding myself to take my own advice. If I'm willing and able to spend $30k on a vehicle, I should be willing to spend a bit of time and money to find one that is exactly how I want it. Within reason of course.

For a rustbelt car, thats average, i would worry about the exhaust and cover areas.
For a southern car, its too much rust, but then again those suffer from uv damage.

Personally I would check the insides of the frame and integrity of the frame on a ppi. Most sellers these days understand surface rust scares customers so they do clean undersides or spray some oil on the frame to make it look nice.
