I am in the proces of doing a "frame off" rebuild of our trailer. We picked up a pair of water tanks and a cooler, so I'm reconfiguring the entire storage system. Just last weekend my wife asked how the water would be dispensed. I showed her the magic of gravity and where the lines and shut off valves would be located. She, " wouldn't it be nice to have a spigot up next to the stove?".. humor me a bit here... I like to keep things simple, the kiss method for me any time, but,,,, she is my sweetheart, we backpack, we wheel, we camp, we live. (Overlanders is such an overused term, but I think we fit the bill)... so,,, long story short, we wil have a spigot up next to the stove... I'm thinking a small in-line magnetic aquarium pump will do the trick. Household current, as I have a power inverter all ready to be used and don't want the hassle of having to wire up 12 volt lines to the trailer. Chime in with any pros or cons to this idea, as on paper and in my mind it looks good to go, but I can sometimes be way-off in my thinking... thanks guys..

Seems like a 12v pump like used on sprayers would be a better idea; they move a lot more water, have a bit of pressure, and pump only on demand. Pretty cheap too, like $50 at tractor supply. Maybe you can get those in 120v?

Agree...a Flojet 1.5 gpm pump can be had pretty cheap, and not much beats running water.

I wouldn't total abandon the gravity fed, especially in the event your battery/pump dies....the show must go on!
