College student, runner, I was curious about how well the horse could run after I brought it back that day. And I felt sorry for it being in that small pasture unable to run. I sure wasn't going to try to ride it. It was a quarter horse, not really bred for distance. And unlike me it just stopped when it was tired, it was like WTF?

It was a lameass old horse that never got any exercise, and it decided to quit running, maybe it just got enough running and was ready to go back. I fed and cared for the horse, it wasn't scared and running for it's life or anything.

I used to have a german shorthair pointer that would run back and forth in front of me while hunting for 3-4 hours without stopping. I imagine he probably covered 15miles on a good day. No reason a greyhound couldn't run 7-10.
