The work on the trail went well. It was hot, hard and dusty. The entire crew worked well together. There were several FJ40's from NorCA but only one 80, driven by Mickey_Rubicon and his friend KC.
To my knowledge the crew member who drove the farthest came from Fresno. He drove an authentic AMG first generation Hummer. (Towed his own 55 gallon drum of bio diesel.)
Our work summary is below and from another post on another board.
OK, the stars are totally the Cook Crew!!!
Dale Robins is a most excellent Cook Crew Chief. The best set up with a hand washing station, chow line, and professional looking staff!!!
Paul Davies Ribs are out of this world, I have no idea how we will ever top that! (Guess he's roped inot it for next year too!
KC of Toy Connection did a great job on the Ugly Beans, and produced a Kick A__ Potoato Salad!
Top it all off with Service with a smile from the Rubicon Rock Heads.
Oh yeah, and don't forget the yummy breakfast! Fruit, Muffins a Coffee - Dale you Rock!
Counter Clockwise on the trail projects:
James Clark with a small crew repaired the Kiosk Deck, (I heard they took it almost completely apart and REALLY fixed it) Thank you for coming all the way up from Fresno with that supersexy HUMVEE and taking care of this project for us!!
RObert Lighfoot at Gatekeeper, buddy you fixed htat problem but good. Wow! Great work!
Kurt Schneider placed reflectors from the bowl to Post Pile, sorry man.....I thought someone would be able to get you a ride. That walk up the slabs had to be a killer
You're the best!
Mike Overmayer at Soup Bowl did a fantstic job of locating a long time issue with drainage at the soup bowl and hopefully fixed the issue permanently. They also blocked a bypass...NO MORE SOUP FOR YOU!
Bret Preble started out on his own at the top of walker hill, but by having Scott Johnston there with ol' Betty, as a few unsuspecting trail riders went by, Scott simply asked for a hand loading ol' Betty with some rock, and before you know it, the Walker Hill project was well under way.
We also had a guest LU leader stop by...John Gilmore of Friends of Tahoe Forest OHV Trails drove by, saw us working and jumped out of his Jeep, grabbed a shovel and went to work. He had two of his friends along, and they quickly followed suit. Project done!
I have to be honest and say I did not get an update on Wentworh Springs Pad pour, but if there was a problem I likely would have heard by now. Glenn Reynold of the Top Gun group. THANK YOU!!!
Everyone worked really hard. I hope you all take this sincerely when I say we could not have done this without you. This trail exisits because of the folks like you who care enough to put back in what get out of your trips on our beloved trail.
Dennis, Del, Stacie, John, Barb, and everyone else that I may have missed, you are the best.
:sniff::tear:
See you next time
Bebe
