rubber hose on rear diff actuator (lc100, 99)

I just bought a new rear diff actuator and wonder what to do with
the small rubber hose on the actuator?

Its a vent. Its been so long since my rear diff & e-locker were vented via OEM I can't remember how Toyota had it rigged. I ran mine, using additional rubber hose, up the passenger side of the tailgate and capped it with a small filter. How high/where you run it is dependent upon the depth of water you cross...
