C-Dan just sent me a new key FOB (thanks) for my newly purchased '97 LC. It has the RS3000 alarm system. I downloaded instructions on how to reset the system (this is from the user manual) and the instructions on how to "assign" my new remote to my car (this from http://www.4runners.org/articles/rs3000).

My problem is that the remote will NOT LOCK the doors. I can close the doors and press the big button. It makes the chirp and it sounds like its trying to lock, but it doesn't. It arms the system (security light is flashing). If I open the doors the alarm goes off. So basically the system thinks its locked, but the door lock doesn't actuate.

If I lock the car using the power lock switch to lock all, and close the door, the remote will unlock it.

I also unhooked the battery for 10 minutes with no luck...

I tried the search, I looked at Beo's site (can't get the links to work) and I looked on Slee's site too. Any suggestions?

Thanks
Brett

Looks like that "free" web site hosting service has lost one of my accounts. I've got others but moving all that stuff takes time. Christo loaded the manuals on his web site so if you can get to them there then you have the same manuals that are on my hosting service.

It sounds like you've done everything OK. There is an EWD for the alarm (I loaded it on the Slee site) so you might be able to debug the door locking problem with the alarm EWD.

Not sure how to get to Christo's site... got a URL?

Also, I checked out Slee's site, under technical articles and newbies, but I didn't see anything on the RS3000 (but did see RS3200 - not sure what that is)

What's EWD!?!?!
