drove the pig a bit about 60 miles it barley idles and it is very rough and will stall stumbles to about 2000 rpms but ounce it gets going it seems to do fine and mixture screw seems to have no effect. oh the Eng has 70 miles on it a 75 2f pet ign rebuilt crab flat top pistons open chamber head RV cam

those bits seem OK the carb may be leaky i sprayed starter spray on carb and rpms went up how many screws hold the carb body to the base i can see two is there a third screw.

carb top to the carb body??? there are 7 or 8 of them, if you meant the carb to the intake manifold there are four nuts on studs. could be a fouled or fouling plug, pull them all and inspect/clean or pull wires one at a time while idling to see which one it is. pay attention to the insulation, i have had one or two crack over the years.

can a leaky exhaust manafold cause rough idle? cause i have the same symptoms being desicribed.

checked plugs weirs all seem. well I can see drops of gas going down the carb is this the way they work? and yes a leaky exhaust gasket can cause problems if the nuts are lose they hould down the exhaust and intake.

'75-'80 US variant 2Fs used an open chamber and a domed piston.

'81 and later 2Fs used a closed chamber and a flat top piston.

A '73-'74 F head will be a bolt on swap to any of the 2F, producing more compression on the '75-'80 blocks.

A pre '73 F head will swap to the later 2F engines once the rocker arm oiling is addressed. There will be piston/head interference on the early 2Fs

You can install an early 2F head on a late 2F engine. You will loose compression.

The above stuff is from one of mark whatley's posts.
Also, whatcha know about your cam? Lift and duration?
