All,
Started the cruiser up this morning, made it to my destination, and was about to park when she started jerking and idling rough. The "ticking" noise I have become accustomed to instantly became more noticeable even on idle. I have had a coil pack go before and this time it does not seem to be as rough of an idle. I can accelerate fine and drive at speed with no issues. These symptoms are accompanied by a flashing CE light and a burning smell. The smell seems to come from both the engine bay and the exhaust. The best way to describe it would be almost burning plastic with a hint of fuel.
I am right in the middle of my 1st semester law school finals so this could really not have happened at a worse time. If anyone has ideas I would appreciate it but otherwise I am going to get her checked out when I have the chance. She is a 2000 with about 209k miles.
Thank you in advance,
Mike
