Good day! I have an 87' FJ60 in 309 Freeborn Red. The doors had some tow mirrors installed a long time ago (who even does that??) and the PO had removed them. The issue is, the mirrors left a hole in each door.

- PO patched and primed the first hole on the drivers side, so now I just need to sand and prime again before paint.
- Passenger side door still has the hole that needs to be filled and patched.

Knowing these two things, here are my question for the paint gurus out there.

1. Can I fill the hole (smaller in diameter than a pencil eraser) with JB weld, and stand it down? thus creating a better surface to bondo cover?

2. 309 Freeborn Red: Since this will be my first adventure in bodywork, does the paint offered by cruiser corps in their rattle can need to be clear coated??

3. Will (3) Cans be enough to cover both doors, and 1 front fender? (Figuring i'm going to tape off half of each door and fix some dents while i'm at it).

Any general recommendation on process's would be great, I have all the tools, and the patience to do it. just a limited knowledge other than what youtube has shown me. ;)

Other sources of 309 freeborn red would be great to know as well, in the event that this comes out nicely and I decide to do the entire truck

Is there an autobody supply store anywhere nearby? I had them mix up some rattle cans of the metallic black my cruiser has on it. Yes, it needed clearcoat but they sold me some of that in an ingenious 2-part mix rattle can.

JB Weld should work well, especially if you can get behind the panel and glop some of the epoxy around the hole back there.

I just sprayed a windshield frame and there was no real body work to do on it.
