Hello,

I'm the proud new owner of a 90 HZJ73 with a turboed HZ1 diesel and 5 speed. The previous owner took very good care of it.

My goal is to make this thing as mint and reliable as possible and had some general questions regarding these

Is HZJ73 the same as HZJ75 parts wise? I see alot for the 75 but not the 73?

Current Mods: ARB lockers Front/Rear, PDI turbo and Intercooler

Hit list after lift Inspection:
Oil pressure is reading low, was going to locate sensor and put a mechanical gauge on it.
Left side tie rod end has large play(Was going to buy a tie rod end kit to replace all)
AMSOIL fluids (Diffs, Transfer, Trany)
Clutch seems to be slipping under a light load(if persists replace clutch, bearings and plate)
Rear Pinion seal leaking(Breather cleaned, if continuing replace seal)
Replace Windshield due to cracks
POR paint underside frame, axles, rock sliders and underbody in general for rust proofing
AC needs completed as I was aware from a reroute with the turbo kit

I think all those oil pressure gauges read low. Mine certainly does.

Mine reads low as well, checked with a mechanical gauge, all within spec.
There are several threads dealing with the low oil pressure readings.
One thread that I have seen indicated that reading got to normal values after replacing the sending unit with a new one.
I am intending on replacing soon as well.
Good luck, like this rig

Agreed. That has been my experience across the board with 80's and 90's toyota oil gauges. Aftermarket might be a little more accurate and give you less stress while looking at it, haha. Replacing the sending unit and also checking the connection on them might help slightly too.
