Looking at a set of rims and tires for a 62 and I was curious if anybody was running a similar rim (and backspacing) on a 60/62 and whether there were any fitment issues. I have checked the 'wheel fitment' thread and did not see this rim listed. If there was a tie-rod clearance problem, a set of spacers should take care of that. Anybody know if these will clear the calipers? Specs below.

US Wheels, 84 series, Black Daytona, 15x8
Part #: USW-84-5860L

Thanks.

I have 3.75 inch backspacing on my wheels and they hit the tie rod ends without the 1/4 inch spacer im running. You could get away with a little less spacer than that i think, with the spacer i have plenty of room. Ive got plenty of thread left for the lugs with that size spacer too. Those wheels look like they might have a little lip on the back of the cutouts, which is what causes my wheels to rub the caliper. I would look for one that has no lip on the cutouts.

thanks. just the info i was looking for. i thought i might need a spacer and something in the .25" range is fine. since i'm looking at these used, there's not an option of another rim really. i have no problem grinding down the 'lips' of the cutouts (where they touch), if they cause a problem - just a bit tedious. thanks matt.

FJsixty2, even with my rockcrawlers that have a mad nasty lip on em, i just barely had to touch my stock calipers with a file, they were just barely cutting into the paint on my wheels (with the 1/4 spacer). Different story with the 4 runner calipers, they required some solid grinding to clear. If youre considering that swap in the future keep that in mind. And im not sure how good an idea it would be to trim the wheels, its better to shave the caliper IMHO.
