Bought my first LC earlier this month. Found it on CL out of Charleston- '98 with 265k miles and 4 previous owners/clean title. Upon test drive I discovered the rear diff lock was not functional and several other things (paint was rough, little dents and scratches everywhere, seats were pretty thrashed & patched, etc). Had to have it and paid $7,500.
That same day I dropped it off at Toyota of Anderson, SC and had them go through it to get a proper baseline established. I got the truck back after the following had been done:
*timing Belt
*water pump
*camshaft/crankshaft seals
*thermostat
*ABS Ecu
*rear diff actuator
*a speed sensor
*cleaned fuel injectors
*fluids/filters etc
After that, I took it to ACC incase Toyota had over looked something. Everybody there was super cool and I was told that things looked solid, however the recommendation was made to do the CV boots sometime in the not to distant future.
3 days later I left the upstate to road trip to Ontario, Canada and brought my dad along for the ride. Here are a few photos:
