2007 Lexus gx470, in very good condition, ready to take off-road / overlanding. I just did the following upgrades within the last week:
- Eibach pro truck lift - 2.5”
- Rear Airbag Delete
- 5 new OEM TRD PRO wheels (from Toyota)
- 5 new Falken Wildpeak at3w 33” tires. (255/80/17)
- SPC Upper Control Arms
- New timing belt and water pump
- New Radiator
- New front brake rotors and pads
*There was nothing wrong with the current timing belt / water pump / radiator. I changed the timing belt and water pump because it was previously done 90k miles ago. I decided to change the radiator because the mechanic was already in there working and it was easier to do it now than in the future if it went out.*
I’ve put in about $7,000 in the last week upgrading this to become a perfect off road vehicle. I have receipts. All the work was done by a reputable company who only works on GX and 4Runners in El Monte, CA.
The upgrades are similar to what the big GX dealer in San Diego does to their vehicles. I don’t think they do upper control arms or radiator though……
Now if your wondering, why am I selling after putting in all the work / money?
I’ll be honest with you, I bought this car about a month ago with the intention of doing those upgrades and going overlanding with my family. After doing the upgrades, I realized that I am just not that guy. I’ve never camped in my life. I hate bugs and dirt and everything that comes along with being in the wilderness. It was nice to think that I would enjoy that stuff, but I am just not that guy. I like hotels and paved roads. I have never even hung my own wall art, I have my handyman do it. How would I ever change a flat tire in the middle of nowhere or something more serious than a flat tire. I can’t put my family at risk being in the middle of nowhere without any signal. This is why I a selling.
I hope someone more experienced with the wilderness gets to enjoy the amazing 4x4 capabilities of this truck.
