NO PLACE TO RIDE?
Join The Rhode Island Off Highway Vehicle Association

We are celebrating our 3rd Anniversary with a short meeting and trail ride at Stepping Stone Ranch in West Greenwich on Sunday, November 18th at 9:00am. Please stop by and hear our future plans, join our organization and trail ride on 80 beautiful acres. Food and Drink will be available on site. Our mission is to establish a place in Rhode Island to legally ride your ATV, dirt bike, 4X4 Truck, or snowmobile. Come see just how close we are to achieving that goal! Join us to help make this a reality!

COST: Just $10 per year, which includes a trail ride that day, an event t-shirt (limited to the first 200 attendees), membership card, our newsletter, future safety seminars and Peace of Mind to help establish legal riding areas in the State of Rhode Island. $5 Donation for parking.

For more information and rules Visit our web site
www.riohva.org or call Bob Pacheco @ 401-539-2821

No loud bikes or quads. Proper safety equipment required. Event will be held rain or shine. Event Rules will be listed on the RIOHVA Web Site.

Directions:
Interstate 95 north or south, take exit 5-A, it will funnel you right on to route 102, follow for 1/4 mile to Route 3 and take a right, you now will be on route 3 South. Follow 1 mile to Route 165 West, take a right at flashing light. Follow route 165 for 5 miles and take a right on to Escoheag Hill Rd. Follow Escoheag Hill Rd for 2 miles to the Ranch.

Remember go slow on Escoheag Hill Road. This ride is on a horse ranch, and there are other farms in the area. Be respectful and yield to horses. We don't want anyone complaining to the ranch owners that we (ORV users) were not giving the horses the right of way.

If you would like to go and ride the trails, please post up HERE.

Thanks!

I'll plan on making it. Maybe I won't be able to bitch any more that there aren't places to wheel in RI. :bounce:

So what are we talking in terms of trail rides?

It's enough to keep 25 trucks busy for most of the day. There's basically 4 ledges with multiple lines of varying difficulty. You won't be disappointed....trust me.

I'd like to mention that this meeting is a great cause, and even if you're not able to get on the trail ride, the parcel is such that you can walk along and watch all the action. :D

P.S. there is an obstacle that at least one person has rolled on every year. :bounce:

Either way, it's a short ride for a good cause. I'm going to mark it down on my calendar. Do you have any trails a Ford F-150 can run, i.e., dirt parking lot?

We'll be running probably two groups, one stockerish, one moderate. The stocker type is passable in an F150 if you don't mind a little undercarriage scraping in some spots. And some of the trails are tight and a little twisty, so I'd use caution if it's a double cab long bed or something.

Parking will be in a field if that satisfies your need though. :D

That will work. That's about the extent I trust it to from an offroad standpoint. I can't scratch it up anymore; it's getting traded in when I finally get my 40 on the road.

Rules and schedule updated in 1st post. Pay particular attention to rule #8 please.

On a semi related note, one of the reasons the owner of Stepping Stone let's us use his property is because RIOHVA promises to help him with some labor around the Ranch. This years request is to help him reshingle half of the horse barn. It's an overlay, so their's no removal of the existing layer. but it is about 45 square. Any help somemone might be able to offer would be greatly appreciated.
Target weekend of December 1st & 2nd.
Details are here:

Please post up if you can help and if you have any tools that you might be able to bring as well.
if we get done early, we might go wheel.

Hey Roger, It was nice meeting you. Had a great time and it was awsome to be able to wheel just 40 minutes from home. I would plan on making the roofing gig but that is the weekend I am getting married. I will plan on making it to some of the future trail cuts ect.

get your priorities straight man!! Just kidding of course. Great meeting you too, and look forward to seeing you out there. I'll keep people in the loop of what's going on as much as I can.
