Hey guys,

Could you please help me diagnose an annoying tone when I turn off my 2001 land cruiser?

I just pulled in to work today and after placing in park, turning off the engine, and removing the key the truck will make a long "Beeeeeeeeep" while does not stop. This sound will continue with the doors shut and truck in park.

I had checked lights to ensured they are off, doors, and sunroof. I disconnected the battery but only for 15 seconds before reinstalling and the noise continued once I reconnected the battery.

What more information from me do you guys need to help diagnose?

Thanks!

I start experiencing this exact thing today. The sound is like a medium tone, loud enough to be mildly annoying. Won't stop and I'm worried it'll eventually drain the battery. I have never heard anything like this before.

Any thoughts? Thanks

I forgot to add, the sound does stop when you turn the key into the accessory or on mode and when you start. But resumes when you stop and pull out the key.

This started happening for me today. Did you by chance find how to resolve the ringing?

Mine has done this when I hit the lock button and one of the doors is open or slightly ajar. Maybe a door sensor isn't working? This is a weird one.

I am circling back with what I think is the issue. We've gotten a ton of rain over the past few days and my 100 is parked outside. I've had a bit of leak coming down driver's side A pillar and through the rear brake light. Yesterday, the horn got stuck on when I honked at someone driving the wrong way down a one-way street. Only way to stop it was to disconnect the battery. Did research, and water coming down driver's A pillar gets on the fuses in the kick panel; pulled horn relay and it fixed the horn. The water coming in the rear hatch is known to cause electrical issues with the alarm system which where the symptoms associated with this thread. Just drying things out and fixing leaks, hoping that'll prevent it from happening in the future.

Water in the rear cargo area could be down to the third/high level brake light gasket leaking.
