I am too cheap to pay $3000.00 to buy a tandem car hauler to tow my fj40 to the trails. Does anyone have any experience with building a trailer like this at home? Does any one know what i might spent on this build? I have a set of trailer house axles that should suffice. I just need to know where to start.
Thanks Brad

Mobile home axles have small bearings and are really kind of throw away items. Go to ABC trailer parts and order the proper axles. They are cheap and good quality. For a hauler, I'd put brakes on at least one axle.

I an not sure why you need to spend 3000.00 to buy a tandem axle trailer for a 40. You can find almost new used bumper pull trailers for less than a $1000 and gooseneck ones for under $2000

I always thought a Bobcat trailer would fit a 40 perfectly, but damn, they're heavy. I see them all the time for about $800
