Is it me or is this kind of stuff getting more and more ridiculous when it comes to Land Cruiser parts and literature prices.
I was just checking out what is on EBay in the Land Cruiser department and came across someone's dream of making it big by selling a Toyota manual, wow what guts they have. I love it when it says rare.
Well it does have free shipping-how nice.

That is ridiculous

The people running for president in the US make me laugh, these people selling used land cruiser parts for big prices are Cons, okay they are both the same.

Again, these are like the floor mats that go for thousands. If you are restoring a collector vehicle, you want original, and the better shape the higher price. My bet is the 1982 will go quick.

It is a fad - once eddie bauer (or whoever) stops using cruisers in their commercials, things will return to normal (i hope! :) )

Not sure it's a fad that will go away any time soon. I think it was the FJ Cruiser that brought attention to the 40 series. Look how many refer to their 4X series as a FJ. That term wasn't used prior to the FJC. Years ago a member who went by Groundup restore a 73 FJ40 FST to show room condition. It even had the PTO winch and very original replace top. RickD was involved in the top and it was top quality. CruiserDan got many of the parts and I'm sure would remember this cruiser and could vouch for the quality of the restore. He ended up selling it on eBay for the low $20Ks. Today at high end auction it would probably be close to the six figure mark. What I do see happening with the market as these are becoming more common at high end auctions it's going to take more then a fancy paint job to get top dollar. Think it will become more refined to where things like the plastic missing off door handles and cheap aftermarket lights are going to matter. Just my .02 :meh:

While tearing down a split case PTO I realized not owning a cruiser with a split case other then my FJ62 I have no FSMs that cover these. With my old FSM I should be able to wing it. Otherwise it looks like the FSM would cost more then the PTOs did.

Ha! I just logged into Paypal and saw THEIR newest ad featuring an FJ55!

I wanna meet the guy who spends $500 for this manual, I really do. Although I'm not sure what I'd say to him.

They are showing up everywhere - maybe I need to let the hollywood studios know my trucks are available for "lease" for commercial shoots
:)
