Rice, you can reuse the stock washer or you can order larger ARP washers singularly. I don't have the number with me, but if you do need it let me know.

*Edit - wait did I read that you were torquing the ARP studs by angle? I haven't actually had time to read the whole thread but the ARP studs should just be torqued to ft/lbs.

** You guys hide some pretty good stuff in this NC forum, like the turbo thread I had no idea this was here.**

Yup, another important point that I let slip under the radar .... OEM bolts are TTY and the ARP studs are not. Thanks. The Supra guys are pulling heads down to 80 Ft Lb so I'm guessing same for us.

Yes, the Supra studs came in 3 different materials over the years, they had a torque of 80ft/lbs, 90ft/lbs and 110ft/lbs. the 110ft/lbs studs were about $400 a set so it's unlikely you have them, so 80-85ft/lbs would be safe.

Head is on. Torque sequence was very smooth. There's a chance I can get the cams in after dinner.

Hey Rice!!!! Good looking out with all the updates and Info.......... ARP is located about 10 minutes from my house. in Santa Paula CA. If your ever in the area they have a little restaurant called HOZY's that has the BEST breakfast around! LIKE as in they use filet mignon for their chicken fried......no bs....At night they have an amazing dinner as well. Place is decorated with superchargers, and racing art of all kinds with famous signatures written on the walls. A cool spot indeed.

My buddy is married to one of the Granddaughters as well so he is in the "know"
I just forwarded the links you posted to him and if at all possible I will follow up with someone at ARP to see if they can supply the correct size washers for our rigs. If I find a perfect match with them Ill get the part # or kit # and post it up.
@scottyT good catch on the torque spec........

I have not had time to tear into that motor that I bought yet, but when I do I will take pics and update here or on my build thread. But ARP + Stock crush style gasket + ? torque spec may equal that misfire code and head gasket issue between #1 and #2...... we will see.

Thanks again for sharing brother!

My 'work' area looks like an episode of Hoarders meets Sanford and Sons.
Ditto....and very little work gets done due to all the crap cluttering the space!

I have so much stuff scattered out I have had to make a trail to the car port door. I really need to move the parts and "stuff" to get the wife off my back.

Getting thread back on topic ..... :grinpimp:

Saturday, Jan 7th.

I am not going to call this date a HAMOM since I don't wish to make a big fuss out of the swap but I am open to volunteers coming to do some wrenching.

Provided there are no surprises or setbacks my plan is for the engine swap to happen on Saturday, Jan 7th (I will begin prelim stuff on Friday).

Please let me know if you would like to come so I can forward an address and have a notion of how many to expect.

Depending on circumstances, I would like to come by to at least observe and learn something.

Ill be there .....

Well played starting on the @beno birthday. Nothing says parts geek party like a motor swap :D

Count me in
