I have been talked into these tires by this board, I want the 285/75/16's
But my question is will they rub? The LX has softer suspension than the LC.
I have read that they clear the LC, but have concerns about my LX.
Also if I did want to lift it an inch or two, What would be the best lift?
I would like to keep it fairly soft and it wont be seeing any 4 wheeling for a few years.
(its my wife's. But Im going to take it over soon I hope)
Thanks.

Nope, they won't rub ( I had them on mine),.

If you are looking to keep the ride fairly soft (as compared to the LTX's), then you may not like the ride of the REVOs..I didn't. Noticeably stiffer.

I just put 285 Revos on mine. Clearance for front at full lock in both directions fine. Haven't wheeled it yet, so I cannot confirm what articulation might do, but there haven't been any problems that I've read about. I have original 86K mileage springs.

Revo's are fine, and after letting out the 150#s of air the tire shop put in them, they ride fine to me at 35psi......check out the comparisons on tirerack.com for ratings, If I recall correctly the Revos scored better than Michelin LTXs in all categories other than mileage life......

If you don't want to lift your truck considerably, check out Sleeoffroad.com, they have a system to replace stock suspension without a considerable lift....it will lift about 1" I think, but that probably is just restoring the sagging you have with original springs.......or go 2.5 medium or heavy, but that is getting more seriously involved......

If wifey likes cushy, you might want to wait until you take it over before you put in stiffer springs, or at least that is my plan, Your situation may be different!

Thanks for the input.
Im going to try them without any lift first.
And run about 32psi.
They sure look good, anyone ever correct there speed o meter?

I corrected with Slee's speedo gear. Don't know if it will work on an LX or not. Other choice you'd have would be a TruSpeed.

I had GPS'ed my speedo before and after the Revos and then with the speedo gear installed. Before I was traveling slower than speedo registered according to the GPS. With the larger tires before the speedo gear install, I was traveling faster than speedo read. To be expected. Speedo gear installed, I'm dead on with GPS reading. Disclaimer - doesn't mean your speedo reads the same.

I never bothered correcting the spedometer, but slee offroad has a gear that you can swap the stock gear that will correct it - or come pretty darned close.

if you want the cushy ride, don't lift it yet. you'll lose the cush. that said, the OME 54mm springs and shocks (also available from slee) will improve handling.

the 285s will fit, you'll have no rubbing, but as you know, the spring/shock rate on the 450 is a bit lower than on the LC, so the wheel well will look a little fuller as compared to a LC.

The springs on the LX and the LC are the same. The LX comes with softer shocks than the LC.

The 285 Revos work great, and for the most part solve the side-to-side swaying problem unique to the LX450's suspension.

You'll have no problems rubbing. I've "got rocks" with stock suspension and the same tire. Plenty of rocks rubbing the cruiser, but no tire rub while offroading.
