So over the weekend I installed the trail hart cat back system on my '01 LX470. I picked the system up from JM auto racing for $756 shipped no taxes unless you're from the IRS then I definitely paid some sort of tax. It's was a pretty straightforward install and the pieces fit together fantastically but I thought I would mention a few tips or things I noticed.

1. All bolts and gaskets for the revel part of the system are included but you'll need those round crush styles gasket for the 2 connections to the stock system. I picked up some (2x) from AutoZone (Fel-Pro 61040) but you can get the OEM 1s from Amazon for cheaper.
2. I would straight up just cut the old system off. Out of the 5 bolts holding the stock system together I was able to get 2 taken off and had to cut the heads off of 2 more with a Sawzall and the last bolt was for the camp holding the section after the muffle on and I just lopped that whole piece off. Replacement bolts are m10 1.25x40 I picked up some from mcmaster carr as ACE did have any stainless steel bolts in that size but they did have the washers and split washers in stainless.
3. lube those rubber hangers hangers before even attempting to pull them off. I used some silicone lube to pull them off and I soaked them down and let them sit that made reinstalling them a breeze.

so my initial impression is that I like it, minimal drone at 1800-2000rpm and not its not super loud. If you like V8 noises then I would definitely buy it.

Interesting.. I looked at that. but with the 25% & free shipping a few months back.. I went OEM for this same price around 750% for everything cat-back.. .. also on my 2021. I had put a cheap muffler that fit well on it in 2020.. but that failed .. so OEM or nothing on the Lexus. I have had nothing but bad luck with the aftermarket anything on this truck.
