On Saturday March 1st 2025 two brothers separated for 43 years were reunited. Meet Berky and Sheldon, two 1982 Dune Beige Toyota FJ40s, who share a unique bond. Born in the same week of May 1982, they are separated by just 110 units in production. It is highly probable that they were being assembled on the production line at the same time, exited the line on the same day as each other, and were quite likely shipped to the USA together on the same vessel.
Berky entered the world with modest features, equipped with essential components that rendered it as capable as any FJ40. In contrast, big brother Sheldon emerged with additional luxuries, boasting power steering and air conditioning. Following their arrival in the US, Sheldon found a home in Arizona, while Berky embarked on a journey to Atlanta, Georgia, where each vehicle resided separately for most of their lives.
These two siblings might have never encountered each other again if not for the eerie twists of fate. Sheldon, now residing in Atlanta with his present owner, coincidentally ended up joining the same Land Cruiser club. A keen-eyed club member observed that although Berky and Sheldon hadn't attended the gatherings on the same Saturdays, they inadvertently parked in the very same spot, only a few months apart.
It took a few more months for these two brothers to eventually reunite, but once they did, they took some time to catch up and get reacquainted while posing for a few glamorous shots with their owners.
It was a long-awaited reunion that had been 43 years in the making.
